Paradise Beach, Pondicherry – This beautiful breath-taking island is fringed with coconut trees

8 km from Pondicherry situated in Chunnamber, is the Paradise Beach. In this place river  Chunnamber meets with the ocean making it an ideal spot  for picnic. The beautiful Island is fringed with  coconut trees. One needs to take a boat, to cross the backwater and  reach this breath-taking island.

How to reach the Island

From Chunnamber you need to take rowing boat or speed boat to reach the Island. Its a 20 min exotic journey.

The boat Cost 75 INR person (20 min ride). Speed Boat for 2 person 800 INR for 15 min or 4 person 600 INR for 15 min. These boats take you back from the island  free of cost. This service is available till 5 Pm

The turquoise  ocean water here is crystal clear. The beach is  less crowded so you can have your own little time. Don’t forget to take Sunscreen Lotion as the sun will roast you. There are no water activities available but you can bring your own volley ball or rent it. There are  beach shacks which offer food and beverages, but it would be  a good idea to carry your own food. Only Chunnamber lake offer variety of  water sports. If you are planing for an overnight stay, Chunnamber Tree House or Resorts would be  the best option.

How to reach Chunnamber : Hire an auto rickshaw or bus from Pondicherry.  Auto charge around 120 INR and Bus  6 INR per ride.
